Annie Friedland
Annie has been playing the piano since age 1 and professionally since age 4. She  all played in bands through High School and was slated for an Opera career in College. Not wanting to go through the rigors or classical music, Annie went on the road and had the opportunity to play with several nationally known acts such as B>B> King and Wilson Pickett.
In her home town on Pittsburgh, she had several bands, was nominated for "Best Jazz Vocalist" in Pittsburgh and played for the Mellon Jazz and 3 Rivers Arts Festivals. Annie has always been a music icon in Pittsburgh.
In 1993, the music business was riddled with drugs and when a good friend of hers died she moved to Oklahoma and then to Los Angeles, where she did work with drug addicts on an Indian Reservation, and edited textbooks for an internationally known rehab. She still is active in Drug Prevention and is a member of CADCA an on-line network of drug prevention coalitions particularly aimed at young people.
Her current collaboration is with 2 super-talented musicians that Annie has known for 20 plus years. It is more of a blues band than jazz, but has many different styles woven in. Look for a CD out shortly.
